Protection For Children's Precious Hearing With Puro Sound Labs' Volume Limited Headphones
With the widespread use of earphones and headphones, it’s not difficult to imagine a future where many people find they are suffering from hearing loss (or Noise Induced Hearing Loss to give it its proper name) due to listening to music at too high a volume level. Perhaps it will be the major class-action lawsuit of the future.
Of course, for some years makers of music players, headphones and smartphones have cautioned customers about playing music too loudly. In Europe, smartphones even have a limiter switch set to EU Maximum Volume Level, to prevent music being played at very high volumes.
However, while adults are free to make their own choices, it’s a different matter when it comes to children, many of whom listen to music and movies using headphones, often in the back of a car on long road journeys.
Until now, the market for children’s headphones has been undeserved, but with the increasing availability of active noise canceling, children’s headphones are set to become a growth area of the market. Increasingly, we will see headphones aimed at children with features and designs that will appeal to younger consumers.
